Time Attack - Round 1 Cadwell Park 2021

This year sees us supporting customer Sean Wheatley in this years Time Attack Championship. What started out as a dyno run has turned in to a partnership offering support and sponsorship.

Round 1 saw us attending Cadwell Park with a small team due to Covid restrictions. Once we got set up and sent Sean out to scrub in a new set of Trofeo R's and get an idea of how the cars handles having not driven on them before.

After lunch the weather took a turn for the worse with the heavens opening causing a 45min delay due to a number of vehicles sliding off the track. The team set to swapping the wheels over before Sean went back out and set a qualifying time. Sean called time on this session due to the amount if standing water and mud on the track. "Wheel spinning all 4 wheels in 4th gear wasn't fun" Sean said.

With weather conditions not improving the round was cancelled and the qualifying times were used as the final results. This meant Sean finished 1st in class winning Round 1.

Sean had the following to say.

“Great day at Cadwell Park on Monday for the first round of the Time Attack UK Championship with the Peron Audi TTRS running Dyno spectrum DS1 stage 1 ecu tune and TVS Engineering Stage 2+ TCU tune.

We only had one dry session first thing in the morning for the 15 minute warm up but managed to get some heat into the Trofeo R’s, with outside temps of only 7 degrees C, and post a 1:38.5 lap on the board. Rain came for the next sessions and got worse until the final was cancelled but results were given from the wet qualifying where we were first in class.

A solid first round for #TeamPeron and looking forward to our next round at Oulton Park!”
