The Mercedes-AMG E63/E63 S is one of the most potent super-saloons/estates money can buy. Powered by a thunderous twin-turbo V8, it makes 604bhp (in S guise) and will hit 62mph from rest in just 3.4secs (saloon), thanks to the 4Matic+ four-wheel drive system.
Akrapovič’s engineers quickly spotted the potential of this powerhouse and following months of intensive development, the Evolution Line titanium exhaust is now available to order.
Manufactured from high-grade ultra-lightweight titanium, this stunning system is designed to replace the AMG performance exhaust and saves an incredible 30kg over the stock system. But it gets even better: this simple, plug-and-play set-up delivers proven gains of 20.5hp, while torque is up by a huge 54.4Nm.
With reduced back-pressure and optimised gas flow, it also opens the door to further tuning. The system comes with a set of mandatory Link Pipes, which are beautifully constructed from high-grade titanium and finished off with a carbon fibre tailpipe set in either matte or gloss.
As with all Akrapovič systems, the sound is something that engineers devoted a lot of time to perfect. In this case, the already sonorous AMG performance exhaust is taken to the next level to really make the most of that fantastic V8. An additional pair of exhaust valves has been added behind the rear silencers to allow total control from inside the car.
The end result is a deeply satisfying burble on idle, followed by a mighty V8 howl when you bury the throttle. Of course, being an Akrapovič there is no drone or unwanted cabin noise when cruising.
