The new Supra is one of the most eagerly anticipated new cars for years. The combination of a potent, 335bhp six-cylinder engine, a nimble chassis and striking good looks means it has already won over the motoring media and enthusiasts alike.
One area that could be improved upon however is the sound. The six-cylinder is quite muted as standard and lacking a little in character, which is why Akrapovic has wasted no time in developing an exquisite new exhaust system to unleash the Supra’s full vocal potential.
Manufactured from ultra-lightweight titanium, this high-end Slip-On Line system is the result of many months of intensive development by Akrapovic’s engineers. The brief was to create something that delivered a thrilling sound and proven performance gains – without any unwanted drone; it’s safe to say that Akrapovic has smashed it out of the park.
The valved, titanium Slip-On Line system features unique tailpipes, with an imprint design on the inner pipework that’s finished in striking violet-blue (the natural colour of titanium that has been exposed to extremely high temperatures).
Optional stainless steel Link Pipes, are also available to create a full system, ideal for those wishing to undertake further tuning of the 3.0 turbocharged engine. As with all Akrapovic exhausts, the Supra system is a work of automotive art and also saves significant weight over the OEM item. An Akrapovic Sound Kit may be ordered to complement the system.
