The TVS Tuning Stage 4 software delivers ultimate performance from the 6-speed DQ250 DSG gearbox for tuned vehicles with the following engines: 2.0 T(F)SI, 2.0 TDI, 3.2-3.6 V6, 1.9 TDI, 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI (2013 to Present). With the mandatory race clutch installed, it will handle up to 750Nm of torque.
While the DQ250 DSG system is known to be generally strong, reliable and easy to use, there are some known issues, which can hamper drivability, especially with tuned vehicles.
These include: lack of response (delay in shifting); harsh, unwanted kickdown and a less-than-smooth pull away from standstill. From the factory, Sport mode is too aggressive and high-revving for many situations, while in Drive, shifts may feel sluggish – both impacting on the drivability of the vehicle.
In the same way that ECU software optimises the way an engine performs, TVS’ gearbox (TCU) software does the same for the twin-clutch DSG unit.
The programme removes unnecessary downshifts, allowing you to hold onto a gear for longer, but also increases the shifting speed, which provides a more responsive and enjoyable driving experience. With the clutch clamping force and torque limits both increased, the TVS DQ250 Stage 4 software can handle up to 750Nm of torque, when used with the mandatory TVS race clutch upgrade.
As with all TVS Tuning software, full customisation is available, allowing drivers to tailor their DSG performance for their preferred driving style.
