PERON Tuning Stage 2 ECU & TCU Calibration for BMW B58 (M140i / 440i)

At PERON Automotive, our Stage 2 ECU and TCU calibration package for the B58-powered M140i and 440i is the culmination of extensive in-house development and collaboration with global partners. The already-impressive B58 engine gains significantly in performance while retaining the smooth, OEM-like drivability that makes these models so rewarding.

Performance and Drivability

Our Stage 2 calibration raises power to 435450 hp and torque to 460 lb-ft–475 lb-ft on 99 RON fuel, delivering a more potent mid-range pull and enhanced top-end performance. The map has been engineered for seamless torque delivery and precise throttle control, making it equally at home on your daily commute or a spirited weekend blast.

ZF 8-Speed Gearbox Calibration via xHP

To complement the ECU upgrade, we provide a TCU tune using xHP software, specifically tailored for the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission:

  • Faster, more responsive shifts
  • Optimised torque-converter lock-up
  • Revised shift logic in Sport and Manual modes
  • Raised torque limits to suit the increased output

The result is a gearbox that feels sharper, more intuitive and perfectly in sync with your engine’s newfound vigour.

Fuel Requirements

While optimised for 99 RON, the Stage 2 tune remains fully compatible with 97–98 RON, delivering performance gains without compromising fuel economy or day-to-day usability.

Recommended Hardware

  • OEM BMW B58 spark plugs (if not recently replaced)
  • Performance panel air filter and upgraded intake hose
  • Performance downpipe with high-flow catalyst
